Instincts takes over, he stands ready, muscles tense, licking lips with anticipation. This is natures season of drive and renewal, written in the quiet rhythm of the forest. "Silent Strength" Rescued after a forest fire left her paws badly burned, she healed slowly under the her care takers hands. Her paws will never carry her far again, but her spirit still runs the forest. At Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, caretakers keep her world alive - trees, pools and shade to cool off, and play that stirs her wild within. Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, Jupiter Florida

At the Palm Beach Zoo, a bonded pair live as wild ambassadors - climbing roaming, and reminding us what is at stake. Their story joins the fight to protect 18-million plus acres of Florida's wildlife corridor - a promise that HOPE still has a heartbeat for these big cats. Palm Beach Zoo, West Palm Beach Florida

"The Unintended Bobcat Lesson" Found as a bobkitten and mistaken for a house kitten, this bobcat was raised by people who didn't realize what he was until it was too late. Underfed and dependent deponent of people, he could not longer survive on his own. Now he lives safely at Bush Wildlife sharing a shaded yard with another rescued bobcat. Reminder: that even kindness and good intentions needs wisdom when it comes to wild life. Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, Jupiter Florida

"The Long Lesson - Black Bear Sisters" Orphaned as cubs after their mother was euthanized for raiding trash cans. The twin sister bear cubs were brought to Bush Wildlife - too young, too trusting, too close to people to return to the wild. Now full grown, they roam their forest enclosures together, safe behind the fence that both protects and confines them. Through my lens, she lifted her nose to find my scent - a quiet reminder that even in captivity, the wild remembers freedom skills. Bush Wildlife Sanctuary. Jupiter Florida
